Installation über Putty

    Hi,


    ich habe mir auf einem Webserver Domino installiert und wollte mal ausprobieren wie das ganze auf Linux läuft.


    Nachdem ich dir .tar Datei hochgeladen und entpackt habe, habe ich dann ./install eingegeben und alle Fragen beantwortet.
    Bei einer Frage war ich mir jedoch nicht sicher und zwar; ob ich den Server local administrieren möchte oder über remote. Da ich keine remote tool von Domino habe, habe ich local gewählt.


    Da ich aber nur einen rootzugang über die Shell, bzw. über Putty habe bekomme ich bei der Installation folgende Meldung:


    "Please edit your shell's DISPLAY environment variable to reflect an unlocked ter
    minal that you would like to launch the Domino Setup Program on.
    "
    Was kann ich denn da nun machen? Gibt es ein anderes grafischen Prgramm um die Datenbank zu administrieren?

    Die Ausschrift "Please edit your shell's DISPLAY environment variable to reflect an unlocked ter
    minal that you would like to launch the Domino Setup Program on." besagt daß die Setup-Routine eine grafische Oberfläche (Java-basiert) versucht zu starten und entweder kein oder ein inkompatibles (weil nicht ausreichend konfiguriertes) X-System vorfindet. Und Putty ist zugegebenermaßen kein X-Client ;=)


    Entweder man startet das Setup über eine grafische Oberfläche der Maschine oder verwendet das Remote-Setup, bei dem dann alternativ die grafische Oberfläche des Remote-Systems (z.B. Windows) verwendet wird.

    danke schon mal für eure Antworten. Aber wenn ich den Domino Administrator auf meinem Windows Rechner starte muss ich doch einen Servernamen und eine Domain eingeben, die konnte ich doch bei der installation gar nicht eingeben. ??
    Ich bin das von der Installation unter Windows gewöhnt wo ich den Server dann erstmal konfigurieren muss und dann über den Domino Admin darauf zugreifen kann.
    Oder meint ihr ein anderes Programm als den Domino Admin? Muss ich den Server vielleicht für ASP konfigurieren?

    Richtig. Der Admin Client hat nichts mit der Installation zu tun. Das unter Windows funktionierende Setup ist das gleiche Setup was auch für Unix/Linux verwendet wird. Nur wenn man eben keine grafische dort verwendet dann muß das Remote Setup gestartet werden. Auf Serverseite ist das der sogenannte "Listener" der auf das "Remotesetup" einer anderen Maschine wartet. Das geht sowohl von einem bereits installierten Server aus (Server Remote Setup) oder alternativ von einem Client. Dazu muß bei der Clientinstallation das Remote-Setup allerdings mit installiert worden sein. Das verhält sich nach dem Start genauso wie das von Windows bekannte. Genaugenommen ist es sogar das gleiche Setup, nur daß hier der entfernte Server "ferngesteuert" wird.

    ja ich denke ich weiß was du meinst, allerdings erscheint dann immer die Fehlermeldung "Unable to locate server that is listening."

    Allerdings sehe ich da keinen Fehler.

    Du must den Listener noch starten!


    Mit dem user einloggen, denn Du um Setup angegeben hast(normalerweise notes)


    Danach über den pfad starten wo der server liegt!


    /opt/lotus/notes/bin/server -listen


    Danach sollte er eine Meldung bringen, dass der Listener läuft und Du kannst über Remote Setup zugreifen!

    Die Zeile "Error can't connect to remote host" sagt doch schon alles: Entweder lief auf der Linux-Seite der Listener nicht oder die Linux-Maschine läßt sich nicht via deinem eingegebenen Hostnamen/IP nicht von der zweiten Maschine aus erreichen.


    Nochmal: Das Setup läuft in 2 Schritten!


    1.) Auf der Linuxseite den Listener starten


    2.) Von der Windowsmaschine das Remote-Setup starten und als Host im Dialogfeld die IP/den Hostname der Linux-Maschine angeben.

    also wahrscheinlich stelle ich mich ein bisschen blöd an, aber ich bekomme den Listener nicht zum laufen.


    Wenn ich unter:


    /opt/lotus/bin/


    versuche den Listener mit ./server -listen zu starten bekomme ich die Meldung, dass er notes.ini nicht in dem Pfad oder Verzeichniss finden konnte.


    selbst wenn ich es unter:


    /opt/lotus/notes/70000/linux versuche kommt die gleiche Meldung.

    Das ist richtig, da ist Sie nicht drin, aber das Verzeichniss, dass du meinst habe ich nicht. /bin ist bei mir direkt unter /lotus nicht unter /notes

    bei mir ist es auch in /opt/lotus/bin
    nimm halt diese datei.
    du musst mit dem user für den du domino installiert hast (meistens notes)
    im verzeichniss
    /local/notesdata
    stehen und
    /opt/lotus/bin/server -listen eingeben.

    das habe ich jetzt gemacht und scheint auch funktioniert zu haben. Allerdings sagt mir der Client immernoch "Unable to locate server that is listening"


    Der Serverport bleibt doch gleich, oder? Also 8585 und als Adresse müsste doch die reine IP ausreichen: 81.169.149.28

    du könntest mit nmap nachschauen ob der port überhaupt offen ist.
    bzw. mit netstat ob der server überhaupt daran lauscht.


    was für bildschrimausgabe bekommst du wenn du den domino so startest?


    bzw. legt das setup programm das
    /local/notesdata/setuplog.txt
    vielleicht steht da die fehlerursache drinnen.

    Kann ich auch irgend einen anderen Port nehmen?

    Wenn auf dem Server der Setup Listener gestartet wird dann sollte an der Linux Shell die Ausschrift lauten:


    Remote server setup enabled on port 8585.


    The Domino setup server is now in listening mode.
    A remote client can now connect to this server and configure Domino.


    Wenn diese Ausschrift nicht kommt dann zumindest eine andere, die zur Fehlersuche dient. Das hat mit dem Client erstmal rein gar nichts zu tun und ändert sich auch nicht durch andere Ports.

    Hmm ne also die Meldung kam nicht. Ich hab es eben noch mal probiert aber es kommt auch keine Fehler Meldung:

    Die runde Klammer ist natürlich eine eckige.


    Also ich gebe das ein und es passiert gar nichts. Das ist doch wohl verflixt.

    Um welche Linuxdistribution handelt es sich eigentlich? Wurde Java mitinstalliert? Hast du das tar-Archiv auch für die korrekte Linuxversion verwendet und auf korrektem Weg entpackt? Wenn die shell keinerlei Meldungen ausgibt stimmt mich das schon sehr bedenklich.

    So einen Effekt hatte ich mal als der Server versehentlich per root gestartet wurde.
    Überprüf doch mal die Berechtigungen und Eigentümer der Dateien und Verzeichnisse im Data-Verzeichnis
    Lauten diese auf den notes-User und die notes-Gruppe ?
