defekte Ansicht in names.nsf?

  • Problem:
When a Notes 5.x user resolves a name in the SendTo field with Type-Ahead enabled, the Ambiguous Names dialog box appears. The user selects a name from the list of choices. However, a different name from the list gets populated into the SendTo field of the memo.

For example, a customer types 'Kat' in the To field and Type-Ahead completes the name to the first match found. When the user presses ENTER or F9, or attempts to send the message, the Ambiguous Name dialog box displays the following choices:

    Katherine Dow
    Katherine Jones
    Katherine Smith

When Katherine Smith is selected, the To field incorrectly gets populated with the Katherine Jones selection instead. The problem is that the name above the selected name in the Ambiguous Names dialog box list is placed into the SendTo field.

    Solution:

This issue was previously reported as being fixed in 5.0.2, and again in 5.0.5. However, this issue has been reproduced on post-5.0.5 releases of Notes 5.x and is still under investigation.

NOTE: As late as Notes 5.0.11, there is a new type-ahead problem where the incorrect name is added to the SendTo field after selecting it from the ambiguous names dialog box (SPR#RCFE4W5J6U). This issue has been addressed in Notes 5.0.12 and Notes 6. To work around the issue in releases prior to Notes 5.0.12 and Notes 6, use the Address button.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.0.12 MR fix list (available at http://www.lotus.com/ldd):

Mail Client - Address - Type Ahead

SPR# RCFE4W5J6U, RMAA4BLV4B - Fixed a problem which caused the Ambiguous Name dialog in mail to return the name above the one selected when Type-Ahead is enabled with "Local then Server" and "Stop after first match" selected.

NOTE: This fix has introduced an additional issue in Notes 5.0.12 which effects the value returned when you have selected a group or mail-in database name from the list. For more information on this issue, refer to the following document: "When Selecting a Group or Mail-In Database Name from the Type-Ahead Ambiguous Names List an Unexpected Value is Returned " (# 1109164).

    Supporting Information:

This will only occur when Type-Ahead is enabled. When Type-Ahead's lookup routine is not being used (this occurs when Type-Ahead is disabled, or Type-Ahead is aborted by pressing ENTER, Send, or F9 before a match has been found), Recipient Name Lookup's lookup routine is in use and the ambiguous names dialog will work correctly.

Refer to the document titled "Differences in Search Order Between Type-Ahead and Recipient Name Lookup" (#1090020) for more information.
