IP wechseln auf dem Primären Notesserver

  • Guten Morgen allerseits,

Where are Server Addresses Cached in Notes and Domino?

    Problem

The Notes client and Domino server cache network addresses between sessions, in order to improve performance. Where (and how) are these addresses stored?

    Solution
    Notes Client

For a Notes client, the server's addresses and supporting information are stored in the current Location document in the Personal Address Book. The currently cached server addresses therefore depend on the current location.

To view cached server information for a Notes client, do the following:

    1. Open the local address book.
    2. Select View, Advanced, Locations.
    3. For each Location document, right-click and select Document Properties.
    4. On the Fields tab look for the following fields:

    $SavedAddresses
    $SavedPorts
    $SavedServers
    $SavedDate
    $SavedTriedDate

    Domino Server

For the Domino server, the server's addresses and supporting information are stored in the Server document in the Public Name and Address Book (NAB)/Domino Directory.

To view cached server information for a Domino server, do the following:

    1. Open the Public Address Book/Domino Directory.
    2. Select the Server/Servers view.
    3. For each Server document, right-click and select Document Properties.
    4. On the Fields tab look for the following fields:

    $SavedAddresses
    $SavedPorts
    $SavedServer
    $SavedDate
    $SavedTriedDate

    Information on What Is Stored

For each server that a Notes client or Domino server has connected to, the $SavedAddresses contains the network address of that Domino server. The supporting $SavedServers field contains the name of the Domino server and the $SavedPort field contains the name of the port that the client/Domino server connected to the server with.

The type of address stored depends on the protocol used for the port. For example, for TCP/IP ports the saved address may be a fully qualified DNS host name, a non-fully qualified host name, or the IP address in dotted decimal notation.

The $SavedAddresses field may be checked using the normal properties box, however the other fields will only list the first entry in the list. To examine these values you may use the NotesPeek utility (now available publicly from the Notes.net Web site at http://www.notes.net).
