    Problem
The Search results screen in Lotus Records Manager allows the user to select records, then use Action Buttons in the navigator to copy or move the records from one Record Series to another. If a Record Series Identifier contains accented characters, such as characters with an umlaut, Internet Explorer returns the following error when the Record Series is selected by the user as the target for the copy or move operation:

"HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - Entry not found in index."

    solution:

This issue has been reported to Lotus Quality Engineering. To work around the issue, use the following steps to disable sending URLs as UTF-8 in Internet Explorer:

    1. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options, Advanced.
    2. In the "Browsing" section, uncheck the option "Always send URLs as UTF-8."
    3. Restart Internet Explorer, if needed. Some versions of Internet Explorer require a restart for the change to take effect.

Additionally, Record Series created using a Web client or those created in Notes when the user does not have an "international" character as the first letter of their last name do not see this problem.

    Supporting Information:

To duplicate the error, follow these steps :

Use an International version of the Domino server with a non-English character set.
Using a Notes client, create a Record Series in which the Record Series Identifier contains an accented character. To do so, log on as a user whose last name begins with an accented character, for example, "Ä".
    Next, launch Internet Explorer.
Call up existing records using Search.
Select a record and click either the "Copy to Record Series" button or the "Move to Record Series" button.
A "Select Record Series" window appears.
Select the Record Series created in Step 2. The error given above is returned.
