When mail message is opened in Domino Web Access, the body is blank
Product:
Lotus Domino Web Access (iNotes) > Lotus Domino Web Access > Version 6.5
Platform(s):
Windows
Doc Number:
1211544
Problem
When users open mail messages in IBM Lotus Domino Web Access (DWA) the body of the mail appears blank. If the same message is opened with the Notes Client or the Webmail UI it appears fine.
Content
It was found that the Active Content Filter (ACF) was blocking the display of some messages. Others were not affected. They found that by disabling the content filter resolved the problem for these mails.
However, it must be noted that doing this will allow active content such as embedded Java and JavaScript to be passed to the browser.
To determine whether the ACF is blocking the display of the message, you can examine the page source of the message in the browser. Look for an entry in the BodyHTML variable that indicates the content is being filtered: "var BodyHtml= '\\n\n<!-- Removed by Notes ACF:"
To disable the ACF, insert the following parameter to the Domino Server's Notes.ini and restart the server:
iNotes_WA_DisableActCntSecurity=1

There has been an update in relation to the SPR that this PMR has been subscribed to, SPR # PANNXXXXX. It has been stated that the issue will be rectified in a future release of Domino, Domino 6.5.6. Also, it appears that a hotfix may already be available for version Domino 6.5.5.
Please tell me if you would like me to test this for Domino 6.5.5. with a view to sending this to you. I note that you are using version Domino 6.5.4, so this may not be suitable for you.
